2010 All Texas Mopar planning
It's been 3 years since Capital City hosted an event and this year will be even more memorable than the last the last one.

Save the date(s)
September 18th AND possibly 19th.
Location: Buda, Tx (just south of Austin near Cabella's)
Open to any MOPAR powered vehicle regardless of the year! Yes, that is right, Classics & Modern Mopars all together in central Texas.

Sept 18th activities:
  • Live band
  • BBQ
  • Dyno runs
  • Hands on a MOPAR. Huh???!!
    • So that one takes some explaining. What is the one rule you always have at a car show?
KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE CARS!

    • Well we are breaking that rule for our special invitees. We are inviting folks from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired who have never been included in car shows for the very reason that they do not get to touch the car. Imagine how happy they will be to experience a car show for the first time. We hope to make that come true and so far it looks like it will! We will have an area set aside for them to touch the vehicles in that area. If you would like to offer your car for that area, please contact me and provide the model so that we can manage the assortment of cars.
September 19th (still in negotiation) It's safe to say BRING A HELMET and be ready for a tech-in! More details as that develops.

We have our host sponsor confirmed!

ART, formerly known as American Racing Tech, in Buda (Dave Weaver, General Manager) will be the Primary Event sponsor! In addition to providing the facility and property, they will also provide dyno runs at a reduced rate.

Additional sponsors include Inertia Motorsports (392Stu) who will provide some go fast goodies and others who have yet to commit.

http://longhorncollision.com/Longhorn Collision has just signed as a sponsor as well!!

They did a great job on painting and installing the Grip stuff on Killshots Charger

Remember to encourage the auto related businesses that you deal with to become a sponsor. We need sponsors that are of interest to both the classic and the modern Mopar owners.

That's the teaser for now. More details to come.

Look for me to be there. I,m gonna debut the Great Pumpkin there.

I might see about making it out. some of the DT guys have been wanting to go for a while. (that is if there is racing involved) hopefully i can have my duster on the road by then, and could bring itallong. (i just got the car on the 5th, and it needs a bunch of work to make it race/road worthy. september is pushing it to get it done in time, but we will see.

Sounds good to me! I'm always ready and willing to get my Demon out!
Next weekend, I'm going to Vernon, Tx for Summers Last Blast. I think it might be the largest car cruise in Texas.

I'll get this up on our website...I think I've got friends that live in Buda now, might get down there if work will allow. We might have some late model Challenger guys willing to make the drive as well.

Vernon is a big event, we just had Polk Street here in Amarillo, didn't get to post that up...We had an entire city block of downtown Amarillo covered in Mopars :D I'll try and get some pics up. If ya'll make it to Vernon you just as well come back in October for Chryslers in the Canyon8)

I've said this before on other sites, but I would really like to see a mass of some 5-10 fairly large shows all across Texas with points from shows/race tallied to encourage folks to make as many as possible. The end event can hop locations to keep things fair for all and would be where the big awards were handed out.

Sounds like this would be a nice fit for the Austin area.

I would like to make it back for your show in the Canyon, but I think our Big Mopar show in San Antonio is the same weekend!

Sounds great. I've finally got the '70 340 Swinger running like a charm (almost) and if I can find someone else to drive, I'll bring the '75 Swinger, too.

It will be cool to meet my fellow Austin MOPAR wackos.

Corey

Les, will be alright if I print out some fliers of the show and pass out here in San Antonio and Dallas this weekend? Do you know, if any of the guys from Austin or around here are going to Dallas?

Dan

Absolutely! Thanks for passing the word around. BTW, we did not get the track for Sunday due to maintenance issues.

wow, this is getting even bigger. More sponsors signing on. Be sure and be prepared for a silent auction, too :)

I will say thetr "big" does not accurately describe this event. We have cars from as far as Lubbock coming in for this event!

This should be a blast!

WOW!!!

Ok, it took most of the day to get over my MOPAR Hangover :)

Seriously folks, yesterday was incredible and Capital City Modern Mopar wants to thank all of you for making this such an awesome event. Car counts range between 120 & 135 cars. The kids from the school for the Blind had an incredible time. There were some very touching (no pun) scenes though-out the day with them. One of our attendees brought his Superbird and insisted that it be placed in the hands-on area! He said he heard about the event and brought this one out of his collection specifically with the intention of sharing it with the kids.

Again, thanks to everyone for supporting this event.

Event Tshirts are still available for $8 each if anyone is interested. All proceeds continue to go to the school for the blind programs.

I will share photos once we make sure we have all the releases from the school in order.
