Thanks - you are probably right, but I'm still somewhat shocked that no one here will do an alignment on car that is older than 1990. It is one of the only things I don't do myself. I rebuilt the entire front suspension myself. Including making bushings for the gearbox to compensate for the smaller bolts of the early K-members, so the box itself won't move or flex.

There plenty of places in So Cal that will do alignments in older cars.

Cars Mufflers - Redondo Beach
Johnson Alignment - Torrance
Performance Plus - Torrance and Long Beach
Marlo’s - Chatworth
Tyerman’s - Burbank

Just some basic ones of top of my head. But I know those are over 10 miles away.

Bunch in Pasadena,

Andy’s Alignment in Glendale might be a good deal for you. I’d just stop by and scope them out for the next time.

Part of the club that puts on Fall and Spring Fling Mopar shows at Woodley Park, Van Nuys.

That's awesome - I've been to every Spring and Fall Fling since I bought the Barracuda in 2009. Never had my car in the show section though, I usually just look for parts.

What does your alignment printout sheet say?

There is no alignment printout sheet, haha. If you could recommend a shop that'd be great! Also a place in the area that could weld stiffening plates onto my LCA's, because I can't weld?

I hadn't seen that reply yet - thank you so much! Luckily it's aligned now, but looks like Andy's Alignment is just q0 minutes from my house.

I wouldn’t bother or spend money welding the plates on at this time with the suspension already together and aligned.
I’m sure that money could be spent elsewhere for more bang for the buck.

For the system to have now the stock LCA is plenty fine.

Buy a Hellwig 1 1/4 tubular front sway bar for $250 and put it on yourself.

You will feel an immediate difference in cornering.

The problem is that the passenger side LCA has A LOT of play between at the torsion bar adjuster, so it makes a clunking sound when you step on the brakes or accelerate. The main reason is to tighten that up. I know there's also a way to just open, tighten and reweld the bump stop plate, but I already have the stiffening plates. The LCA's have sway bar tabs, which is why I'd like to keep them. And yes, I plan on getting a sway bar, but money is a bit tight right now.

I see, is the LCA spread some and the adjuster is loose?

If so, you need to clamp the back of the LCA tight to take the slop away. THEN have someone weld the plate in.

The best place to do that is a strap at the back of the LCA. But with it installed in car it might be thought to access that.

Communicating to a shop what you are trying to accomplish ahead of time might be tough. Need good pictures.

I’d look for a mom and pop muffler shop. And see if they’ll work with you. I can see some shops wanting to charge you 2 1/2 hrs labor... $250 just to do that. I think you need to get under there, inspect, and make sure the LCA sides are actually moved tighter before they weld. Some shops don’t make exceptions for customers to do that.

No 100% guarantee the noise is or all coming from that either.

i live near balboa park, there's a firestone at lindley and sherman way that did my 74'. stock suspension though, don't know that i'd trust them with non stock

That strap at the back of the LCA is a great idea. I have a spare LCA that I can use to show them what the issue is. There's a muffler shop here in Eagle Rock that did a great job with a complete new exhaust for little money that I'll ask first.
