Not sure if this is the right catagory for this new member and have never done anything like this before. Anyway my problem is that I cannot remove or replace my PH 43 oil filter! The problem is there is not enough room between the header (TTI Step) and my Lakewood bell housing because of the can shape. I have the adjustable 90 degree filter adaptor and the filter fits ok turned back and slightly down just get it in and out ! My solution is a smaller spin on filter with 2 and 3/4" od gasket and a can not much bigger that will fit the stock threads. Anyone have a part # ?

There are remote oil filter adaptors that let you mount the filter in a more accessable location

compare it to the mopar M090

or consider clocking the adapter, but that opens you up to oil leaks, since they can be hard to get right

Wix part numbers. All are 3.66" dia., have 2.834" x 2.462" x .200" gasket, and 3/4-16 threads, fit Fords and Mopars:

51515 & 51515XP 5.197" long
51085 & 51085XP 3.836" long < I've been using this one
51068 4.338" long
51773 6.982" long

Post up a few pictures so we can see what the issue is. There are quite a few Mopar filters in different sizes and lengths.

I think that I have used a NAPA #1348 oil filter in a tight clearance Headman Hedders application. I can check when I get home

NAPA 1348 (Wix 51348) is really small. It'll fit, but is only 3.40" long x 2.92" dia. Same threads & gasket size as mine listed above.

Thx for the replys, off on a shopping spree this am, will post what works later!

The PH3614 and its cross references are the filter that the Dakota V6s came with and they fit right on there. Same thread and gasket size, but the can is significantly smaller.

Yep Fram 3614 works fine , physically the same size as a LS oil filter but with the 3/4 x 16 thread. I also found the "long version " PH 2870A (5" long) which works and provides a bit more surface area. Napa had cross reference #'s for both and their filters are made by WIX which I will check out later! Thx for all the comments, saved me a bunch of time!!! 70 DDDart.

We run the PH3614 on the Duster it doesn't have the 90 degree filter adapter and, it has headers. It's a tight one but, with that filter it's pretty easy. The funny thing is my daughter has a 2013 Ford Fusion...takes the same filter.
