I am going through the process of switching out the water pump pulley and crank pulleys I had that came off a AC car because I didn't realize they wouldnt work on my non A/C 74 Duster with 318. Now, I am wondering if my alternator will work or if i should switch that out too?? The only alternator I have is from the slant 6 my car originally had. Do I need to purchase a new alternator that works with a 318??? Thanks

Sweet. How many grooves should the pulley on that have??? Non A/C. BTW, I think you were on my last post and asked for pictures and i posted a couple

Most non AC cars are single groove, but generally, an alternator with a dual groove pulley will work with single groove pump/ crank pulleys.

Okay sweet I think I might be set then. I am buying a double groove crank pulley, single groove water pump pulley, and new alt brackets from a guy tomorrow. Hopefully my belts will all align now!

heres a few pics for you, sorry for the quality
