Alternator wiring?

Can someone tell which of 2 ammeter wiring going to the to firewall goes to th alternator?

It's actually 65 and have a wiring diagram but it's not clear to me

Yeah but what side does it go on?

If you put it on the wrong side the ammeter will read backwards. Can't you look inside the car for wire color? How about MyMopar they have factory shop manuals and wiring diagrams.

Can’t answer that as the car is torn apart; however, as 67Dart273 said, if the ammeter reads backwards, swap the leads.

The left side closest to the alternator is alternator. The right side closest to the battery goes to the starter relay,

Make Sure that you have a Fusible Link on the Battery Side! Between the Relay and the Bulkhead.
