going from a factory amp alternator to a higher amp what do you guys recommend ? what amp, going to have an electric fan and water pump, and the usual radio and headlights, the nos power will only be at the track for a short time period, looking at the powermaster one's , 1 wire or regular , whats your opinion#-o
 
I would go with a newer nipodenso unit with at least 100A and use the standard regulator. I have read many downfalls of the one wire setups but mainly that they don't react as quickly to voltage differences. Be sure to upgrade your wiring to handle the amperage of the new alt. Check for units from 94-2001 V8 pickup's & vans I have a truck unit that is 136A and was easily made to fit the stock brackets just needed a pulley swap.
