can someone tell me on wich car
the aluminium box steering came from

a friend of mine gave me one last week end
and he doesnt remember on wich car he remove it

is it worth it keeping it
Im not really a parts seller never know
how much I can sell my parts thats why I keep them
and you never know when you gonna need them

the one I m using on my car is a cast iron
manual steering box

thats why Im asking the question

My 63 has an aluminum one. Best I can tell, it's never been changed.

My 63 is aluminum. The only cast iron manual box I've seen in a Mopar was the flaming river one. How many turns is it lock to lock?

is your car a 1960-61 valiant? 61 Lancer--- those cars have a different style steering box & i believe it is cast iron.
any pics of your rides steering unit? thanks Lawrence

1971 duster thats what it is

no one ever change the box steering
I know the 2 previous owner

just wondering why mine is manual cast iron

PLEASE post a picture of that. I've been playing with Mopars for 34 years and I've never seen a factory cast iron manual steering box in any post 62 car.

the firm feel manual boxes are cast iron
other than that all the manual boxes I have seen are aluminum
and the power ones are cast iron, of course I haven't seen everything (yet!)

sorry no camera to take pics

and yes I tried the magnet after
I readed it was suppose to be cast iron

and yes its truly a manual
