Aluminum Intake corrosion

-
When I bought my edelbrock heads about ten years ago I did a home port job on them and found a casting flaw in the pushrod pinch area. I put a bit of JB weld in it to seal the slicht hole and low spot area in the intake port. Has been on my 410 for the last ten years and now that I have put trick flow heads on my 410 I have put them on my 318 and have never had an issue. So tell greg con to stop[ blowing out his arse!

I suspect you could even use RTV and a small straight edge to work it flat and let it set up. If you use one of those good thick FelPro gaskets, I bet it would seal. Probably from now on. I wouldn't even think of welding it. IMO, the BEST repair is machining it flat, but if that's not an option, then it's just not an option.

That intake works wonderfully!! I replaced the much talked about airgap on my 360. Don't miss it at all!! This intake rips and stomps the airgap everywhere!:steering:

It pays to have friends ! A machine shop would have run $150+ . Negating the money you saved .
Looks great !

I had similar issue with an older OFFY Dual port on my 318 a few months ago after trying everything I knew , a member suggested a water neck gasket from [Real Gasket.com] part # RG-53063 check it out !!
Install dry 20-25 "INCH POUNDS" mine has been dry ever since this was installed .
