I have been searching and can not find a definitive answer. My Service manual calls for 1034 which is a white / clear bulb (ok that might be definitive) but the bulbs I pulled out of my dads 67 Dart GT were amber. I know ultimately it is my personal preference and I like and installed amber. But what say the masses.

Amber or white / clear?

(For the record the lenses are clear)

Until the early 1960s, most front turn signals worldwide emitted white light and most rear turn signals emitted red. The auto industry in the USA voluntarily adopted amber front-turn signals for most vehicles beginning in the 1963 model year,[58][59] though the advent of amber signals was accompanied by legal stumbles in some states[60] and front turn signals were still legally permitted to emit white light until FMVSS 108 took effect for the 1968 model year, whereupon amber became the only permissible front turn signal colour. Presently, most countries outside of the United States and Canada require that all front, side and rear turn signals produce amber light. Exceptions include Switzerland[61] and New Zealand.[62]

So it looks like white was correct for 67 but starting in 68 amber?
 
I have an NOS assembly and it has a white lense with an amber painted bulb still in the box...I would think it is correct
 
I know with the Ford trucks, Amber began in 1976. Mine is a 75 and had clear lenses, but I went with amber since they were cracked and needed replacing.

Sometimes I do find find differences in the Service manual and the Owners manual for things light bulbs.
Dodge is occassionally different than Plymouth, but in the Plymouth 67 FSM, under 'Park & Turn' all models show 1034A.
That originally was a 1034 bulb painted amber.
Might want to recheck the Dodge manuals.

Left is a very used GE, right is a slightly newer unused Sylvania.

These are no longer made. You can buy old stock fairly easily with a little hunting.
or you can subsitute the newer 1157A. IIRC 1157 will slightly alter the blinking rate, and the color will be slightly different since the ones made now use amber glass.

We have a factory bone stock ...lol as of right now ,67dart white lenses amber bulb .cars origional at least while the pile of parts keeps building up

WEIRD because the Dodge manual I have shows 1034. "Maybe" this is partially a running change through the model year..........

Also checked the 67 Polara / Monaco manual and they also are "non A"

Thanks. 1034A is probably correct then. I tend to put a little more wieght on the Owner's manual vs. the Service manual when it comes to things like this. My guess is the dealer mechanics just pulled the bulbs out and walked over to the parts manager and said 'need one of these'.

Well I just looked in the OE owners manual and on page 45 it clearly states 1034A.

I think that is the most definitive answer!

When I cleaned one of the turn signal housings there was a painted bulb in the socket. It would not come out, so it killed me to do it... broke the glass it to grab onto the base and apply more pressure.

Sometimes we have to do such things.
 
I checked the service manual, and searched online, didn't think to look in the owners manual. :BangHead:
