And you thought I was just whining about our streets.

A couple of months ago, a report surfaced that FL spent 4.8 million on non-native palm trees to line toll roads.

...while the tolls increased by 33% during that time.
All the while we have some of the sorriest roads anywhere. Yup all those palm tree's, I just wonder who in the hell is going to maintain them when they need pruning?

Our palm tree pruner was getting up in years and died not long ago on the job, his son is taking over. It's a constant chore knocking away the older, dry palm fronds.

why TF does FL need to import palm trees?

back in the 2010-ish recession, when all the gov't agencies were bawling about lack of funds, I saw a crew scraping old perfectly good grass from the medians and then relaying with brand new sod. Really? That's a funny way to show important projects going without funding.

San Jose. Freeways expressways ok. Neighborhood streets washboard. Except for 87. Sinking from day 1. Low bidder.

Probably because some politicians brother owned a landscape company.

The new liberal governor in Michigan is wanting a new $0.45/gallon to fix the roads. This is on top of a $0.26/gallon tax to fix roads that was levied in 2016. Wonder where that money all went?
