Remember those weird Burger King ads with the plastic faced King? That dude was creepy with that stupid grin....the dude always just appearing out of thin air with a hamburger. The forest, a woman's house, wherever. If some ******* dork appeared in my house UNinvited, I'd hope my dogs would bite his *** before I could get my gun. If I want a Whopper, I'll go get one, not wait for this weirdo to show up.
Now these brainiacs have a new campaign. They have some dipshit singing over the ad with the vocal qualities of THIS genius....

I like to have the TV on for background when I'm doing other stuff but who does this **** TV ad appeal to? Hood rats and thugs?

How about THIS one:
The ads for Wegovy. It is a weight loss drug. The ads show two guys working on a blue Plymouth, maybe a Road Runner. The car clearly has no engine in it yet they have a tool box there to tighten a hose clamp to a radiator hose that runs along the drivers fender apron.
Okay....Now most Mopar guys know that is all bullshit since there are no hoses that run along the driver side but it gets worse.
The older guy moves to the passenger side and sets the tool bag/box ON TOP OF THE FENDER. No car guy does this. He then hands a wrench to the younger guy, a wrench that would not have been used on a radiator hose. The old guy then walks away to join a crown in the street.
Here is the saddest part of it all: Throughout the ad, different people are doing things but suddenly stop and then join in with the rest of the crowd like a bunch of mindless sheep or lemmings. This is a metaphor for mindless idiots that just follow the herd and do what everyone else is doing without any individual thought.

I've been meaning to post some pictures of that annoying ad, as every time I see it I can't help but notice the misplaced (aka: "staged") radiator hose, the toolbox, the kid standing in front of the empty engine bay, and then the side-shot of the car where the front-end is "way the hell up there" (no engine). How stupid do advertisers think people are? (Don't answer that!)

It's gotten to the point now that I either change the channel when I see it, or turn-off the sound, so I don't have to see & hear the "sheep gathering" portion that follows.

But it's so damn pervasive! I've been recording "Yellowstone" for a while, and I think they have that ad on there 2 or 3 times each episode. Sure I can fast forward through it, but still....

As a gearhead, I find that one to be annoying as hell!

Better yet, the hose clamp is on a remote pressure cap adapter mid-hose, wtf???
Maybe it's there to release the extra BS pressure.....

Might have been one of those new EV motors but still don’t know where those hoses were supposed to be going

Sometimes it really is good to live in Canada, we don't get that particular annoying ad, though we do get plenty of others. That's why I PVR most network shows I watch, then fast forward through them, or I watch Netflix or Paramount Plus, no annoying commercials.
 
Living in Germany was interesting in mid / late 80s. There were no commercials!! ...... until about 7pm when for about an hour, they had all kinds of commercials, cartoon ones, etc. But, the best ones were the topless ones that would be for bath soaps or some ****... THAT'S a reason to watch them! lol.
