Hi guys. Pushbutton 904 in my 64 Dart has a problem, don't know what it is but it clunks and makes bad noises trying to go into gear. I found another /6 pushbutton 904 combo in a cheap+local 63 Fury. Fury was a heavily rotted but driveable 4door that got parted out. So the Fury trans has an external filter and the tailshaft/output shaft is longer than the trans in my Dart. I'm seriously considering sliding the /6 and 63 trans right into my Dart and just shortening the driveshaft. Will probably have to hammer the floor a bit. Does this sound like a reasonable option? Dart is just a 4door driver, I'm only looking for the most efficient way to get it back on the road. I do have a rebuild kit, problem is I don't have a clear/open space to rebuild the transmissions.
