Another boat question

-
Yes sir x2. I wasn’t going to try the tank but anywhere there were stainless steel screws, there’s some pitting in the way back. Looks like some junk under it too so I’m checking for bad chafing.
So far no pits in the outer plates.
I’m taking it in for a couple cracks up front.
Some advise: don’t force them in choppy water, you’ll pay for it! Take ‘er easy out there.

Y’all will have to post fishing pictures so I can live vicariously through you! Looks like I’m stuck “on the hard” for a spell.

Took grandkids out Sunday(no fishing) boat ran great and Aubrielle wanted more waves lol.
Tonight wife and I went out, just got back. Caught 3 bass(she let me fish!!) None pic worthy but I didnt get skunked lol.
Somebody had a fishing thread last year?
Good luck with repairs!

We get out on the Pontoon boat whenever we can. Haven't fished here in 5 years since we moved here full time. Moving to the cottage full time effectively caused us to lose our cottage................Too much other **** to do now.

We go camping to fish!

Great pics Troy!
Another boat question, anyone installed a water psi gauge?
I'm tired of checking telltale, a gauge is more convenient.

I've never really thought about that, or even knew that was an option. I just make sure she's pissing a good stream when I start it, and keep an eye on the temp gauge.

Yeah, 1st time for me with this size boat. So I didnt know either.
No temp gauge or hour meter either unfortunately.

No sir, I like seeing & feeling the stream for pressure and temperature. I don’t think the alarm comes on until it’s too hot.
I’m also kinda weird though

‘It’s the season once again!

Last weekend was the last of it (fingers X’d). Finally got a spell of clear weather so I finished painting my hull today. Motors are still off from the welding repairs and she was looking a little rough.

I uncovered mine last weekend and managed to break the damn bilge pump housing :BangHead: I'll get pump replaced and hopefully get out this week. Paint looks good btw!

Trailered mine down to the lake 1st week of May to trial before the "kids" from Toronto visited.

Got it all prepped for launch and noticed this..............

oops........and for the first time ever, in all the years I've gone fishing there, Conservation Police were on site, checking a guy and his boat just as he pulled it out of the water.

I tried updating the sticker online and couldn't make it happen. So, I finally took my issue and phone over to the CP.
Walking up to their truck I noticed they were watching people out on the lake with field glasses. Now I'm thinking they're not gonna' let me launch.
Surprisingly, after explaining the update issue, one offered to try updating the sticker through my phone for me. After several failed attempts, gave me my phone back, told me he wouldn't cite me this time and to go ahead and launch.
Ran really well for year old gas! However, a low-speed heating issue means a new impeller is on the near horizon.

Funny, Troy @CFD244 and his wife Linda swung by for a meet n greet today and while the 4 of us were going out for grub we noticed conservation officers in a boat checking others. You mention "kids" from Toronto, up here Dave??

I had an issue a few years ago, paid my money online (printed the reciept) but never was able to get it squared away

So for 3 years I kept that print out with me, because I didn't have a sticker

When it was time to renew I decide to go into the DMV to get it renewed and see if this time I couldn't get a sticker
(Figured it was a good time to get everything transferred into my name as well)

They took one look at my printout l, one look at the title and said, well duh, you punched in the wrong number

Long story short, I got a sticker on it now

Good to see that they are doing there jobs. Man, with all of the beautiful lake that you have in your neck of the woods, there is probably no shortage of work.

Yeah, daughter and hubby. They came down the next weekend. Took 'em out on Lake Delavan in WI.
First time ever new the son in law got to drive a boat. LOL, might have given him the bug!

Took the kids down to Westport yesterday in orange car to get parts at the marine shop (& climb the lighthouse, walk out on the pier to bug the crab fisherman, beach comb and ice cream…)

A buddy of mine told me this story about 2 decades ago

He was a mexican and his had was here illegally
On top of that, his dad liked to fish without a license

So one day, his dad is out fishing and he get caught by the DNR
The DNR officer cited him for fishing without a license and then asked him if he had a green card

So my buddies dad tried to play it off like the officer doesn't have the authority to ask him that, to which the DNR officer replied, fine, ill call someone who will

And he did, he called immigration and they deported my buddies dad

Moral of the story is, make darn sure you got a fishing license
