Just signed up and wanted to say hello.

I'll be a 70 340 Swinger owner in the near future,
And am looking for a good information source (which I'm sure I've found here at the A-bodies forum)
Where is the best place to find production data/figures as well as info on optional equiptment breakdowns?
For Example the car has a thumbwheel am radio. What is the difference between this and the post/knob type radio? As I've seen the 2 different styles of instrament panels on E-bay.
Also looking for the best restoration parts suppliers (poked around Year-One for a bit already)Although the car isn't in need of a restoration...just a few replacement and detail pieces to bring it up to par
This will be my first Mopar in a mostly Chevy corral.
Well hello, look forward to lurking, learning and asking more than a few questions once the car arrives home.

Welcome aboard!! If you get a Dart 340, will you sell one of your brand-X cars? LOL! :evil4: Here is a pic of mine that needs to be restored! Check out WWW.MYMOPAR.COM They have a lot of info from part numbers to decoding your options! WWW.MOPARTS.COM is a good site too!!

Welcome aboard those 70 swingers rock don't they? You will find great information and knowledgable and friendly people on here. You will enjoy I have and find answers to your questions. Heres a pic of a thumbwheel radio for you these knobs are turned by running the thumb down or up the knob to adjust the wheel. The post knobs are the more commonly seen type radio knobs.

man south jersey guys are taking over the mopar world...lol.

where are you located? i'm in berlin

are we being invaded by GM guys ??? or are the GM guys finaly waking up??
soon you will feel the power,,,MOPAR OR NO CAR,, be ware,,you cant buy mopar parts at walmart,,like you can brand x,, mopar parts are not in catologs waiting to be bought,,they are harder to come by and cost way more then what you are use too,,,you will enjoy this site,,

Welcome aboard. You'll find the MoPars are a bit different than the Chevy's your used to. Give it time and enjoy the car. Once your finished with the normal bugs that everycar has and she runs well for you, you'll like it.
Steering is the biggest difference between the two and the way the car reacts suspension wise.

It's weird at first.

Welcome! Cool to hear of another South Jersey member added to the mopar ranks. Your 340 Swinger sounds like a nice one!

So why the 2 radio types? which is more desirable?
I turned the thumbwheels on the radio when i was looking at the car the other day. figured the left ones were on/off/volume...and tuning .....but what do the wheels on the right side do? (they both turned as one)
think the car only has 1 speaker so didn't figure it to be fade or balance.

That part I couldn't tell ya, as my 70 Swinger is far from being able to play a radio at this point. It could be for balance, are you sure there are no rear speakers? Personally I don't like the looks of the thumbwheel radio myself I have the other type.

Welcome.
Good luck with your intro into the Mopar world.
You could not have stumbled across a better site.
