Hello all - just registered and am glad to be on board! Just purchased a 1964 Barracuda 273 V8 with push button auto. Project car in decent body shape, but needs floor and bracing work badly! Had quarters worked on at some point and now has the radiused rear wheel wells. Pics and more info in the near future - I haven't even picked it up to bring it to it's new home yet! Thanks again, I am sure I will be asking questions along the way.

Alright, another fish spotted and caught! Sounds like a keeper!! Welcome to FABO, glad to have you with us!! Geof

Welcome, where in MN are you located? I'm in St. Cloud, nice to have you :glasses7:

I just looked at your profile, your zip code is super close to me!

Hi, am in St Joseph! Adding a Mopar to my already 4 deep project list!!! Am excited to take this one on. I am just a self-educated, backyard type hot rodder that loves planning out and putting together old school hot rods of all sorts! Learn as I go with a lot more to learn yet! Not an expert at any of it, but will make it happen!!!

How easily can I put a 66 grille on this 64? Not trying to offend any purists, but I like the 66 grille much better.

What other cars do you have? I may know you lol

66 grille in your car would require an entire front clip swap....buts it would work

Other projects include 55 Chev 2dr hardtop. Saved this diamond in the rough and evolving it into a mean old school hot rod, 60's Vette 283, Saginaw 3 speed - using what I have around to get er on er feet! 31 Ford 5w coupe on an original 50's/60's custom built drag strip chassis and getting a '61 401 Buick Nailhead. 1928 Ford "coupster" with 1950 Olds Rocket 303 drivetrain, an original good ol, hell raising farm boys build by my Uncle and his brothers back in the late 50's - resurrecting it after sitting outside for 40+ yrs. 64 Chevy stepside short box, doing a V8 swap in the Spring. I must have way too much time to spare...

OK, here are some shots of the 64 Barracuda I picked up yesterday. Needs floor, bracing and some structural work - this fricken' state and their salt in the winters....

I will be digging into it this Spring and am excited! Super deal in my opinion for ONLY $850!!!

Oh, has sat for 7 yrs, but was a runner/driver prior to that. Previous owners parked it when the floor rust-through was getting too bad on it. No pun intended, but I have my work "cut out" for me!!

ya got quite a cool collection!!!!
ya can make it solid and cool again, a little cutting, bending , welding....
welcome to the site.
ya got a neat mopar show up there I n spring too!!! welcome....

Oh yeah - I haven't been to the Mopar show yet, but first was told about it maybe 5 yrs ago when I bought a 61 Belvedere 2dr hardtop(413 in it) from a guy in the Twin Cities that was a HUGE Mopar guy. Car was so cool, but like a dummy a big offer came along on it when I was just testing the waters shortly after I bought it, and I let it go to Canada to a guy that was going to completely restore it. At least it went to a good home!!! So, anyway, I will definetly be checking out our show this year in the Spring.

Found it on Craigslist, just browsing Barracuda, Savoy and Belvedere one day a while back for the heck of it. Went and looked at it maybe almost two months ago, but decided at that time I better not make a hasty decision after taking a look at the flooring and understructure. Inquired a few weeks later when I went to open up the saved ad on it to look at the pics again and it was deleted then. Asked the guy, he said it was sold. A couple weeks later I see it back on CL again, for a few hundred less and then next day ad was gone again. A day or two later, new ad is up and price is nearly half of original asking price. I knew from looking at it originally he just wanted it gone, and to go to someone that was going to bring it back to life and not part it out. So, I got ahold of the guy right away and said I will take it now and come and get it. At this point, to me, it was too good of a deal to pass up now and I would figure out a way to scrape the money together quickly!! I am super stoked to just hear the motor roar back to life again, and then do what I need to put it back on the road again this next Spring/Summer! Also want to come across a good deal on a 64 Savoy 2dr sedan project at some point in time...

Nice congrats!

You going to keep the push button auto?

At this point am planning on keeping the push button auto. Will find out it's operating condition in the Spring. I have had thoughts of converting to 4 speed, but will get it solid and on the road again first and then see if I want to put more into it. Kinda have that "disease" where I can't pass up a good deal and have too many projects wanting my attention!!!! Thanks!
