According to the research I did, these things were actually more common overseas, but were often used stateside in the rail and aircraft industries. This is a K-45 model, and powered by the /6+727 combo, was rated to carry 4000 lbs on the bed. Cool, huh? Anybody on here have experience with one?

Yeah, I'm in Australia, and also a member of a steam preservation society who has at least three of these with slant six engines. Not sure if they are Kalamazoo, but they are all a bit shorter wheelbase. We call them "tugs", and use them for dragging our steam traction engines in and out of the sheds. Sorry, I don't have any photos...
