A little back ground: This was my first car, my dad bought it for me for $900 in the fall of 1999 and we drove it home that night. I wrecked it the following summer joy riding still without my license at the time, so being young and watching way too many episodes of horsepower TV I stripped the car down to its shell to make a drag car. I bought another 74 duster 318 auto car for $500 for parts in the summer of 01 for the v8 k member and the front end stuff I crushed. I built the engine now known as the mean green 318 my senior year of high school.

The Mean Green 318 consists of:

74 318 with only 64k original miles
factory heads cut .040 pocket ported with back cut valves.
comp cams version of the purple 484 shaft with a little more duration on the exhaust.
torker 340 maniflod ( iknow there junk but it was free)

I also have the 904 out of the car that I literally dragged out of the woods, cleaned it up and put it in the car. It also should only have
64,000 miles on it and there is a unknown 11" TCI converter in front of it that was with the intake manifold in the trunk of the parts car.

The car has a 8.25 rear in it right now with 2.45's but I picked up a 9" furd out of a 66 tbird with an open :wack: 3.00's for $50.

I have done alittle research and I think it is pretty close to the width of a b-body rear.

Anyway sorry for the rant. Lots of body work and assembly to come!

So I have been doing some test fitting lately and I can report that the Cheap Jegs headers look like they fit great without any crimping or bending. I do have new motor mounts and trann mount in the car. My only problem has been my big crazy oil pan.

Is there a straighter center link out there for a bodys? I think mine is hitting at steering lock and it sits low in the pass through hole.

Any idea's I really like the big oil pan I never saw another one like it. It came out of a 70 duster 340 that was on solid mounts.

I got some time to tinker in the garage tonight. I was sick of looking at that lift plate.

I also started on the poor mans floor shift column conversion.

one there is nothing wrong okay i am going to say it the ford 9" rear end thats what nascar uses. nice work on the sterring column. keep up the good work

Took some more material off of the column. Im not sure if I want to lay on the bondo to fill the holes and smooth it out or if I want to just spray it black after I sand off the marks from my body file.
