Hi all, im putting everything together to build my turbo truck.
truck is 84 d150 short bed.
built 904, with 2800 stall converter,
rear axle is 8 3/4 with 3.23 gears.
So far what I have for the engine is early 360 block,
probe forged pistons give actual 9.2 to 1
scat i beam rods, scat stock stroke crank.
arp studs,
heads are eq heads, with 2.02 / 160 valves with a little cleanup.
From here is where I have questions, Im looking for a cam that would work well with this setup, I have a lunati solid cam, but its not really turbo friendly specs, Lunati voodoo 264
Performer RPM and a holley 650 that Im setting up for blow through
i will build the turbo headers. And Im going to go with a chinese gt45 for right now, but plan on s475 in the future.

So im looking for a cam suggestion (Would like to stayhydraulic flat tappet for now), should I find a single plane intake to replace the rpm or is it ok with boost?
It will be driven on the street, taken to the track sometimes.

The single plane intake is okay, the turbo mixes up everything very nicely. May want a bigger carb though. Not too critical on that. I like cams that have around .500" lift, a conservative 220ish duration and a LSA of 113-115. Higher the LSA helps when you don't have the best free flowing exhaust. A good cam company can help you choose the best for your combo, but it'll go something like that.

i would go straight to s475. will magnum manifolds work flipped around? We ran a Crane h278 powermax that we ran going to pull it out for a NA cam. .467/.494 , 114 lsa , 222/234 @.050. We lost a hypertech piston before we could get it sorted out and son went back bracket racing. This is same cam that TOPFUELDART ran in his 318 dart Think he went mid 11s

^^^^^ yes to what rick4106 said. I bought my s475 from Gillett diesel for 640 bucks.

thanks guys, I have a s475 that will be coming off a friends car at the end of the year, that i plan on using, for now I have a new gt45. Anyways, Im looking at a recommendation from bullet for a cam
Its solid lifter 238 dur on intake at .050 232 ext. .532 lift. .009 lash intake and exhast
114lc 108 IC or they have a step smaller 225 int lift .496, 220 ext .519 lift on a 114lc 110ic .009 lash on both

Rotating assembly is getting ballanced, should be done this week. Orderd my cam from howards, its hydraulic flat tappet. Specs are 226 at.050 in and ext, 114 lobe seperation and .560 lift. getting excited to start putting it together finally!!!

This is what Ken from Bullet did for my 360 magnum:
220/224 @ .050”, 270/274 adv, .506”/.506” lift(1.6:1 rocker), 114 lobe sep

I can't say how it works cuz the engine isn't even in a car yet
