I bought a rocker arm shaft from one of our fine members on or about 7-19. On 7-20 it showed to be in USPS possession & scheduled for delivery on 7-24. As of 7-24, it shows in transit & late arrival. I check the tracking of it again today & the tracking has no more updates & the delivery date has disappeared. WTF,O???

Yea I've had the tracking just randomly stop recently but the packages still arrived but a couple days late.

I've had the same thing, but with technology as it is today & everything having to be "scanned", something should be in the system.

I shipped some front bumper brackets for a barracuda a couple years ago, and the tracking just stopped. The buyer never received them. Only thing I could figure was the box got abused and the old metal parts fell out somewhere along the line and got chucked. I have since started packing stuff better in Hope's of that not happening again. I have also thought of putting a shipping label on the parts inside the box just in case. Which I haven't done yet. :BangHead:
I have had a couple taillights get busted in shipping.
The insurance covers lost but not broken.

i sent a payment to florida and it got lost. it has never been found. had all the tracking numbers up until it hit one of the known POS post office with thousands of complaints. took 66 days to get payment back as i used postal m/o. it took 12 days to get a priority envelope from st louis mo to jerseyville ,ill. a distance of 40 miles. so who knows what is going on. just look at broken manifold that usps handled in another post here.

Yeah, I saw Roy's manifold. Someone had to work "REAL" hard to destroy that.

I have noticed that USPS has slowed down, but have yet to not receive my packages... I had one package that I watched go back and forth between 2 post offices for about a week before it made it to me, and that package originated from the state I live in, went to the state north of me, then west, back north, and back... Had at least one that just showed up, that never was scanned anywhere.

Just happened to me last week...ordered a couple of things on ebay....dipsticks....showed tracking number and package never moved....showed up on front porch a week late.....vendor said USPS is not updating tracking info.

I sent a cam and lifters in a game box. stuffed in sideways, the lifters new in their own box and packed with newspaper. The box was broken open and the box of lifters missing. The *** wipes would have to damage the box like they did on purpose. I'm betting nothing will happen with the insurance claim. Next time I will take photos of the packing procedure!

They have no intent on paying out but file a lost package claim for payment. That seems to be what it takes for them to ‘find’ lost packages. If you ask where it is because it is late they don’t care.

The insurance is a scam.

Just my 2 cents...

If the item has any kind of weight to it, NEVER use newspaper as fill material. It smashes even more than you can physically do with your hands, then allowing the items to slam around inside the box. BTDT, learned my lesson. I use old boxes as fill in for large areas., Works well. Tape things together as well so you don't have multiple items loose and moving within the box.

USPS has paid on damaged items for me. They WILL NOT refund shipping cost as FE does.

Yep and that's probably what happened. The box looked like it was drug from Iowa to Texas though.

I have a few parts out still from orders 3 weeks ago. Everything is running behind. Makes me want to find out what eBay's "guaranteed delivery time" is all about.

Mine was late getting there as well. Your's is probably wadded up in a conveyor belt somewhere.

When I order stuff from Ebay, and it's late you can click on your order(somewhere) that it was late and Ebay gives you a $5 coupon for your next order. I had an order with 4 items and got 4 coupons.:thankyou:

I'll have to look for that. Thanks.

Its only been a week. You are being unreasonably impatient. I had a certified letter with a car title sit at a USPS regional distribution Center, just 25 miles away, for a full 10 days after the scheduled delivery date was removed from tracking because the date had already passed. Local post office couldn't tell me anything more that what I found on line, which was "its at the regional distribution center".

When the package first hit the tracking app, it said "Delivery Thursday July 23rd by 8:00 A M". Once the 24th rolled around it said "in transit but late" & from there, tracking has no more updates.

USPS is a crap shoot when expecting packages. The scanning/location of packages is a joke. I got a new phone thru AT&T that was bad. I followed the return instruction to a T. The phone could not be traced, location was unknown. Meanwhile I had to make payments to AT&T even though phone was not in my possession.

I think the USPS uses tracking just to look good. If they ever use it or update, etc., it's just a coincidence.

To paraphrase Lily Tomlin in her phone company operator skits years ago, "We're your postal service, we don't care because we don't have to".

Essentially a government run operation, AND they have a union!

My wife ordered something from Amazon. USPS tracking showed that the USPS took possession of it on June 29th. It arrived yesterday. I ordered something from Amazon on the same day. It arrived on July 1st. USPS tracking said it was "undeliverable" and refunded my $$. USPS has a new Postmaster General that is supposed to "shake things up some". One of them being that the rates that Amazon pays for shipping is going to go up. Up until recently the USPS was processing all Amazon packages prior to handling packages from the general public. That is supposed to change as well....:rofl::rofl:

My wife and I are both retired from the cesspool known as the USPS. One of her many jobs was to scan all the incoming/outgoing cages full of mail. Was not uncommon for the scanning system....which is the very same one that the Carriers use...to be down for 6-7 weeks at a time. They would "fix" it....4 days later it would crash again.
