i agree ... i did see a hp gain with i went to 1.6 rocker but my heads flow 300cfm and .500 lift on my 340 stroker... yes you see a hp gain but it wont be much probably only see it on a dyno before and after... not in the seat of your pants. to answer your question . a few years back i did see a dyno test stamped vs adjustable on his engine it was worth 20hp ( when they drop 1.6 vs stock) ( however this was an engine with better flowing heads not the original camshaft..... you wont see those kinda gains in your 273 if i had to guess 5-10hp in your case ( at best) if your just starting to get into small blocks maybe start with a 318 ... cheap fun ( they make stroker kits for the 318 or 360s unlike 273s... if you want to keep the 273 headers and intakes exhaust ... will be your cheapest power for your dollars not rocker arms.
