440, A body, schumacher headers.... Trying to take them off so I can remove the cylinder heads but I have no room to even pull the headers off the bolts. I figured a few guys around here must have dealt with this before so I was hoping someone could give me a tip.

Double nut the studs to pull them out, just remember that those bolts holes go into water jacket, and/or jack up the engine

Remove intake manifold.

Unbolt headers.

Unbolt each head.

The headers survive this way & by removing the intake, you have room to go 'in' as the heads are removed since there is no room with those headers to go 'out'.

Can't unbolt heads until the headers are out of the way.

How about dropping the K member, engine and trans out the bottom?

this is an interesting thread for me to keep an eye on, i'm planning a 440 swap and i like the schumacher headers.

whats interesting to me is i know the headers get installed with the engine in the car, so how can they not come off with the engine in the car?
