My 65 Barracuda had an ATF leak and now the new TTI exhaust pipes are blackening with burned-on oil. I am afraid to sand it off, for fear of removing the aluminized coating. Any other way to get my pipes clean and shiny again? I am referring to the TTI H pipe just rear of the tranny crossmember, I don't have headers.

If they're not ceramic coated, maybe try oven cleaner on a spot.

Start with Mother's polish (TTi recommendation). Then go to harsher chemicals/compounds if you need to.

Edit: I was thinking you were talking about headers. You could still try mothers though. As far as oven cleaners, that stuff takes off anodizing. Can't imagine it wouldn't do the same to aluminized coating.
