Things aren't looking so hot at the factory im working at. Im considering getting a CDL. My dad was a over the road truck driver for years and retired from Road Way. I was just wondering how many of you drive trucks for a living and which company you work for. Either other the road or local drivers.

I am a retired gas tanker driver if you like to drive and want to be home every day it is a very good job and you can get a job almost any where in the us as a tanker driver after you get 2 years of time on the job but it takes a very detailed ortanited person to put up with all the bull that goes with hauling hazmat but can pay very well

i have a cdl. i drove for maybe 3 months. it has to be the biggest waste of life i can think of. if you have a family and/or kids i wouldnt recommend driving.

What about local stuff, like delivery stuff? I have kids and a wife, so I guess really over the road is out of the question.
