Anyone move drivers bucket seat back?

I'm 6'2" and the bucket seat in my 72 dart sport just won't go back far enough to be comfortable.. any tricks? Can i move the seat brackets back? Thanks
 
Check your bases, some have 3 holes & the stud is normally in the center hole if so.

Exactly correct. Almost pulled my seats out to move them to the rear hole until I found the speaker boxes were keeping the seat from going back all the way....LOL Oops
 
I mounted a rectangular plate on my tracks, then mounted my seat almost exactly where I wanted it. This made it a little higher too, and now I don't look like a midget in there anymore.And it got a little easier to get out with my lowered ride-height. And the clutch pedal works better. And yes I still have room for a helmet. And the window-sill is still uncomfortable for my arm,lol.I am running old RX-7 buckets.

AJ, how much do the rx7 seats weigh ? Mighta asked this before -----------

I always remove the spacers under the seat tracks, but head room is my issue, not leg room.

BTW I found a pair of rx-7 buckets and tracks in my dumpster a couple of months ago...

Not bad shape- one 3/4 inch rip that's hard to see.

...along with the twin turbo setup from the same car!!

cool, wish I could be that lucky ! LOL Would u have time to weigh one ??
 
Great support for a streeter, without the huge seat bolsters. Plenty strong for clutching. Nice scale. Easy in easy out. Even comfortable on long trips.

The only hitch was that the Mazda seat rails are at two different heights; inboard to outboard, so I had to be a bit creative.
 
So the brackets are in the middle hole which is great. The broken stud through the floor however is not..

These work great, I used something very similar, except i have the opposite problem as you all.

I moved my seat higher and forward because I am 4'8" ....... but this type of brackets work either way you are going

Dolls come in small sizes too !
 
I'm 5'5". Could not understand why even with the bench seat in my Dart all the way forward and a pad behind my back I still could hardly reach the peddles.

Turned out my moms 6'9" boyfriend who the car was handed down from had put blocks under the front seat tracks to give more head and leg room.

Anyway I think that worked pretty well for him. Not so much for me though. Lol

Longshot being this is an OLD thread....but how do these work?
 
When I went to move the studs to a hole farther forward in the tracks in my 70 Dart I found that the studs were swaged in place at the corners of the square part. I had to carefully use a little hand grinder with a small abrasive bit to whittle away at the corners until I could knock them out. I used those push on washers to hold the relocated studs in place
