Anyone use these headers on their early a body?

How much am I gonna hate these on a street car that gets driven on dirt and gravel roads that ain't great

Semi fenderwell. I ran them. There used to be a sticky on them. Clearance isn’t bad, installation requires significant butchery of inner fenderwells. I got a way with smaller cuts but you have to pull the engine to get away with that. I had a bunch of pics in the sticky thread.

What a mess of snakes, just bring back full fenderwell headers.

Pull the engine away to make the cuts or shim the engine up in the mounts?

Perfect. I'm going this route now unfortunately. The deal was too good to pass up
Over A GRAND is a good deal? You could get Dougs under chassis headers for less and not have to hack the car up.

I've had more than one 64-65 Barracuda with fenderwell headers. They suck, at best! You can run over a dime laying in the road and they will drag. :BangHead: My current 65 Barracuda will be getting Doug's D450's and I'm gonna cut a notch in the passenger side of the torsion bar crossmember for more exhaust clearance.

Because that's what you need to do to make them fit from the factory or is there some bending of the headers going on for better ground clearance?

He's talkin about making the passenger's side of the cross member like the driver's side. There's a notch for the pipe to run under on the driver's side for more ground clearance. They never had duals from the factory.

It's because early A bodies never came with dual exhaust, so there was no clearance on the bottom of the passenger side of the torsion bar crossmember. The factory put a clearance notch in the drivers side, because slant 6 and V8 cars both had single exhaust that went down the drivers side only.
