Not a bad find in a 350$ car without tittle...parting whats left cheap it also has a 360 or so he said but im not sure the guy new much about the car

It is a 727, stock tail shaft.

Looks like a 727 pan, alright. What do you mean "what's the deal" with the long shaft? That would be "normal" in a pass car or 2x4 pickup and some other trucks

Only things that use "short" shafts are 4x4s and some of the "heavy" trucks and motorhomes

Hmm my 904 has I smaller shaft I think its a 73 but it did have a 3.8 servo lever

Yes a 904 is shorter.

Well guess I just got my first 727...worth rebuilding? I rebuilt the 904 and from my understanding 727's are about the same but with bigger parts. They share the same valve body correct? Are the servos the same? Do they always have the 4.0 levers? Also do they share the same torque converter?

same vb's, the kick-down levers are all different and the convertors are completely different too.
