Auto to manual swap questions.

Ok here is the situation I have. I have a 360 with a 904 with a MP 2500 stall where the external balancing was moved internal when I rebuilt both. I also have a 318 that has a manual 4 speed, I think its a NP435. Since the external balancing was knocked off the converter can I use that on the 318? Than putting the manual transmission on the 360 should be go? Also I am not at all familiar with manual transmissions is there anything else I might be over looking as far as what needs to be done? Thanks in advance!

That's a truck transmission, right? If it's going into a car, it will not fit.

You would be correct! I am pulling the 318/4speed out of a 82 Ramcharger. I am pulling the 360/904 out of my Dart Sport. The 360/4speed combo will go into my 42 pickup and the 318/904 will go back into my Dart Sport.

Bumping this topic up because I really need to know the answer to my torque converter question.

If the converter doesn't have any balance weights on it then it will work with the 318.
