Just bought a 64 Barracuda and was told by the owner that the rear right axle seal was bad (leaking). Does anyone know what seal # I will need? It has 273 with 904 trans.

If there is a whirrring noise when you drive it it also needs a wheel bearing. You'll need the seal, some gear oil, some ultra black silicone or the cover gasket, and maybe the wheel bearing package (and a press or machine shop to replace it) if it needs the bearing. All parts will be for the 7 1/4 rear axle unless the car has been modified.

Bearing doesn't seem to be bad. Was hoping to get the seal number before pulling the axle so I don't have to listen to a teenager asking stupid questions at parts store.

Call ahead and answer questions...lol. It more than likely will have to be ordered. Mine did.

After some more research found the info and more, so just to share with others:
