B body VIN decoding help

i know this is the a body site but i dont know if im going to buy this car i found today. Im thinking 72 charger? car is in pieces but seems to be all there. 440 is with the car but needs assembled. front drum brakes, no heavy duty suspension just think it was a swap. it has some surface rust but no major cancer. i definitely need some VIN help. VIN is XS22G8R249082. FOR $600 BUCKS CAN I GO WRONG? Thanks everyone
 
Are you sure the VIN isn't XS23 ?

Looks like you may have found a 68 Charger RT with a 383

It has a 71 marker light on that quarter panel and 72 taillights
XS22 is charger SE
That VIN is a 78 charger SE or dodge magnum
That VIN does NOT go to that car

Vin that's on the dash. Now that I think about it I bet that's not the correct dash in it. For 600 bucks?

Well it's a 71-72 best I can tell. The VIN plate is not for that car though....
 
Those bumpers were used 71-74
Nothing funky there. It's a 71 charger. Better hope you aren't receiving stolen property
 
After i took the picture of the VIN and got home and trying to do the research it didnt hit me until i was uploading the picture of the VIN that the dash was not correct. I didnt think about it while I was there. I was running through the boxes of parts trying to make sure it was all there and didnt use my head at all. Im up in the air on this one.Yes its cheap. Yes the car is there. There is a whole bunch of work and money to bring her back. I could make one bad *** sleeper looking the way it does though. Im so torn and it was by chance i have the opporitunity to buy this car.
 
The guy has the title and the other dash from what he just messaged me. He did swap the dash. not too familiar but any other places i can get a VIN for the car itself to match the title?
 
The radiator support , the fender tag , the left side trunk gutter lip will have the last 6 digits of the vin
 
Thanks buddy. If VINs do happen to match...opinions on car? i know i didnt get many pics but floors have been replaced and new carpet. rad support is in good shape. seen small hole in firewall. its pretty solid for a PA car honestly. Ive seen 3 year old trucks with more rust. Not making a show car but wanted something for my Dad to cruise in. We are going through a rough time with my Mom passing a year ago yesterday and hes an old muscle car fanatic(mopar only of course). but i want something to keep his mind off of things and a reason to see him more than i do now.
