I got a B&M holeshot 3000 converter and a B&M flexplate......

i figured...hmmm...mopar replacement, stock bolts, right???

no

the holes are 3/8 coarse thread tapped....so, of course, the 5/16 fine bolts won't screw in.....BUT a 3/8 bolt won't fit into the flexplate holes........

maybe drill/tap the holes out to 7/16 and use 7/16 bolts???

hmmmm.....if I don't drill out to 7/16, i can drill the flexplate to 3/8 and get ARP 3/8x .5" bolts to use.....guess that'd work...and drilling the flexplate would be MUCH easier

i hate when the aftermarket doesnt do things with the factory specs, i dont see why that is so hard to do. then they come out with adapters to make it work and u end up paying more

aftermarket sucks, the guy who custombuilt my converter made it to use bigger bolts but he told me in advance that he was going to do it and he said he could make it to accept the stockbolts but said that it was a seriuos risk to leave those small bolts there when he could put in bigger ones to take the power of my hot 340....
