I'm having interference issues with my pro parts headers and my tie rods. I'm using "elephant ear" engine mounts and I'm wondering if they are sagging. What is the correct or recommended height of the engine in relation to the k frame? Like crank center to k frame top for example.

set mine at 6"

72 Dart Swinger
C-body spool motor mounts
on a modded 73 spool mount K frame

I was wondering pretty much the same thing. Small block 340 though just put engine and tranny in and it was lower by about 1/4" on passenger side . I shimmed it got it level .and put the headers on yesterday.HOLY SH#T!!!!! WHAT A TASK THAT IS! First time putting headers on an abody have always had Rams and ramcharger. 5 hrs. By myself

I feel these cars were built + or - 1/4"
I just swapped 2 340's this week
used same mounts, in same car>Dart
Both fit very different

I did here those -pro parts headers sits low, goes back to the days when everyone ran a big front tire, and front ends sit up higher

not sure how you installed the header itself but when i used to run pro parts headers the bolt holes had a ton of play in them so i'd put the center two tubes in and jacked up the collector to get it as high as possible that th ebolt holes allow, then tighten the bolts on those bolts. then when you install the other two tubes get the collector on then tighten the bolts at the head. i installed pro parts headers on quite a few abodies over the years. they always just cleared the tie rod ends doing it that way.

very interesting design!

on my 72 big block

I have a set of fender well headers, I started to cut up to fit better
but,I went with
max wedge manifolds, swapped sides,
they will exit the rear, over the axle, to the bumper.
3">540ci

did have to relocate the master cylinder and alternator
but was better than moving the firewall, heater motor and steering column.
plus doesn't cook the starter, easy to remove if needed
