Good Morning All!

The backdash "hardboard" needs to repainted...I've got what I need here to do it, just need some of your expert advise.

On the seam of the hard board it is flaking (just a little) What should I use to seal that back down or how can I fix it? Just don't want the paint to make it seperate or make the hardboard soak it up and expand.

~ Enjoy your java and chat back. Many Thanks, Bea

The backdash "hardboard"

The "package tray".

needs to repainted

See here for info on repainting soft parts. And be advised that REM make a nice new one (paintable to match) if yours winds up being unsalvageable.

What should I use to seal that back down

Lightly sand it smooth with fine-grit sandpaper, wipe away the sanding dust with a slightly damp cloth or a tack rag, then hit it with a couple coats of Workable Fixatif (comes in a spray can from a good art-supply store).

In another thread I think he mentioned the thick, tarpaper like, insulation on the passenger compartment side of the firewall.

I think this is what he is trying to clean up.

Or I may be totally wrong.
