Got a baffle for my 66 valiant 1920 1bbl carb. My carb when i got the car did not have one. Great guy on this forum sent me one.
Anyway put it in, used new gasket when i put it back together and it keeps leaking gas now. Anybody have an idea what to do.
Do I need to use the old cork gasket or a thicker one?
Thank you

The quality of carb kits available through normal channels is much poorer than it used to be—including gaskets. Get worthy parts from thecarburetorshop.com . In the meantime, you might be able to get by with two of the crummy parts store carb kit gaskets. Inspect the bowl carefully for a warped or damaged sealing surface, and make sure there is not a single speck of old gasket remaining on the bowl or carb body.

Do not apply any kind of sealer, no matter how "gasoline resistant" it claims to be; that stands to make multiple kinds of problems, none of them fun.
