just got back from norwalk monster mopar . trans was slippin (shifted @ 5500 finally caught 2nd @6600rpm)into 2nd at high rpm when manually shifting. Left it in drive the whole weekend.Thinkin band adjustment, never done it before.

Kickdown band, accumulator, and the governor controls 1-2 automatic shift. Tighten band to 72 INCH pounds, back off 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 turns depending on which band, what ratio the kickdown band lever is, and what valve-body you have.

Manual shifting adds the release of the low/reverse band going from manual 1 - man 2.

Is the fluid level proper?
