It is actually mine. I brought it back from South Carolina in 03. Pickled it in rust check and stored it in the barn. I have gotten side tracked with pickup vans etc. I was up at the summer house over the weekend and figured it was time to get it running .

Had to pump up two tires but it started on the 6 year old gas. I put in a fresh battery and primed it away she went. Got her outside and wiped the gunk off the window. Drove down to the local gas station and put $10 of fresh high test in it.

Got some real strange looks but the car only looks like hell. It is very rust free and all the feather duster stuff is present. It actually runs ok too. The tranny was bit lazy but came around after a few full throttle rips.

I put her back into the barn again as it still awaits it's turn. My 68 cuda is getting done first. At least she still runs! I'm going to be a bit more diligent in getting her out and excercised from now on! Every time I'm up at the cottage I'll try and get her out for a spin unless it is raining!:-D

Nice car! So does that have the aluminum hood and trunk frames and aluminum bumper brackets? Overdrive 4-speed too?

It has the Alloy panels but it is a 904 auto. somewhat rare in a feather duster. Also somewhat weird is has a/c, p/s and a frt sway bar/disk brakes! Some other strange options were a hood pad and undercoating. IT has NO undercoating in the usual parts like the wheel wels or sound deadiner in the trunk but it has undercoating sprayed up the middle of the bottom...should be easy to remove!

I have a parts car that is a 4spd and it is missing the trunk lid orig owner said it never had one!x Also the hood on that car is badly cracked around the hood latch . Alloy is prone to that my good auto car has all of the parts and they are near mint!

In the pics below you can see the hood is crimped together not welded as a stock steel hood would be.

Sweet car SandyinNS:thumbrig:
Not trying to hijack your thread,I can relate....
Here is my "behind the empty barn:angry7:" find that sat from 1987 to 2005.....that's how long it took to convince the guy to sell it to me.](*,)
I filed the points and put an oil jug for a fuel tank under the hood(the fuel lines are rusted out) and it fired right up:cheers:
I take it for a run down the road every year and get some funny looks as well...LOL
Mine too will have to wait until I have the wife's 1971 340 tribute Duster gets done and my 1972 Demon 340 4 speed finished.
Paitence is a virtue.....I guess..lol

Hey Sandy,

Nice car for a project. If you ever find that you have to much on your hands, you can always give one to me. hehehe

Jack

Nice project you got there! I love the color.
You should put some "staybul" in the gas tank before you shut it down for it's sleep again.
I personally would drive it for a week to run the old gas out and to keep the seals lubed up, as long as the brakes and tires are good.
Love the pics!
