Barn find real 1971 h code duster

I do plan on starting a resto thread with more pics and information and that is not the original 340 motor sadly. It Is a late 71 340 from Ive been told by second owner of the car
 
What are you guys thinking about this paint? It is the original winchester grey i couldnt bring my self to get a paint job , so do i clear it ? Or just a simple wax hmmm

I would go fresh paint IF you can find someone to do it right - I think the car is begging to be restored. The engine is right if not "correct" so it would be really cool to make it look the way it is supposed to..
 
Yes mike , i plan on doing everything original towards the looks of the motor eventually while adding simple things for a little more horsepower like headers manifold carb ect. Just want to get car running first then i will worry about that and im still on the fence about a paint job or not
 
cool save. late 1971 engines can be painted blue. the 340 decal on the driver side is wrong, it is a passenger side unit-it slants to the right
