Battery Question

I cleaned up the battery posts on my truck a few months ago, had a bunch of that green/yellow crap. Had to do it again today, more green goop. Does that seem excessive? What's happening? It is a 2006 Ranger so the battery is 3 years old.

Clean it up again with baking soda and water, put the felt No-Co's on each terminal and spray down the terminals with the red protectant. You won't have to muck with it for another year or so.
