Looking for a Battery holder. What should i go with or should i fab something?

That's more than a little vague...
What are you looking for?? Replacement battery tray, reproduction hold down; battery box? Keeping it under the hood, or relocating to the trunk..?
And what car are we dealing with?

1975 Dart. tray is in good shape but battery is just floating there is no holder...

This is more like or exactly like the OEM hold down.

If you are getting a "universal" be sure it fits on your battery (some batteries have exposed top caps and some universal hold downs won't fit between the caps.)

If you look on the body and the tray you find the openings the J bolts go into.

Also be sure the width of the hold down is wide enough for your particular battery size

If it was me I would just spend the money on an OEM style.

Wrong year.

I did the same thing, then corrected it.
Ah, I see that in another post. No information keeps us guessing and incorrect parts in the end. I corrected mine as well.
