well after i just threw a new pair of BFG's on my rear rims i noticed something...

well i was admiring them i noticed that my rear wheels had a pretty bad negitive camber!!!!

WTF!!! never noticed this before, so i crawled under my car to have a look and sure enough, BENT HOUSING!!!!

how does this happen?? i haven't had her that long so thats why i didn't notice this before...

nothing else looks bent so i'm ruleing out the "dukes of hazard" theory, :-D!!!!

anyway, my question is.... i'm just gonna replace the whole rear end, what kind of car(s) rear end is compatable with mine so i know what to look for at the wrecking yard?? also, what gears should i run, or should i just pull my ol' gears out and put them in the new housing???

i've got a 1974 dart swinger 318/727!!! thanks!!

I lost control of my 87 Fury on ice and hit a curb hard ! I knew the wheel and axle was bent . Replaced those and 2 weeks later the axle broke in the circlip groove. Then I discovered the bent tube.

Axle housings can be straightened. Obviously if its a 7 1/4 it isn't worth it. An 8 1/4 maybe. If you do have a 7 1/4 now don't go to the trouble to replace it with another of the same. find that 8 1/4.

try box jeeps. aparently they have 8 1/4 rear ends. u dont want a 7 1/4. try to find a mopar wreckin yard. jeeps have good rears but u need to get spring perches made. im sure u can find one on here for under 500

it is the 7 1/4 rear......

i was considering getting it fixed but i have no idea where to take it!!!

what are the benifits of a 8 1/4????

is it the same length as the 7 1/4??

looks like he is in Riverside, CA 92501

The only problem I could foresee is the big bolt pattern wheels he has wouldn't work on the small bolt reverse thread 7 1/4 you have. (if you took it out of the early a in your sig) All he would need though is the sbp wheel and he would be set.

somebody told me i have the 7 1/4 rear end but seeing as how thats for vehicles with small bolt pattern i guess they were wrong, how do i find out what kind of rear end i have??

i would hate to have to convert my rear end to small bolt patten because i just found all the OE beauty rings and center caps for my rims and it wasn't cheep!!!

The 7 1/4 came in big and small bolt, it all depended on the year. This should help identify what you have. http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/Mopar_Rear_Axle_Spotter's_Guide
