I’m interested to hear from everyone what is considered the safest burnout procedure when running a full auto (non reverse manual valve body) 727? The car will probably only ever see street miles but I’d just like to hear some opinions in terms of best preserving the trans and occupants. I’m well aware of best practice when using a RMVB and happy to be advised to refrain from performing burnouts if thought necessary.

I ALWAYS do my burn outs starting in 2nd gear with a manual valve body. Once the tires begin to smoke, shift to high gears and release the brakes. If you are running a stock valve body, it gets a "little" iffy. You might want to invest in a transmission shield or blanket, One or the other might save your right foot if it explodes.
