I have a 64 dart and I'm sure there's a thread about it somewhere. Welding on tabs shouldn't be too big a deal but I'm just trying to see how other people have done it
On my 66 I welded on tabs, easy to do, BUT IMO the front anti sway bars the sell for early A body do not fit. To wide. They sell the same for early and late. I ended up sourcing an original anti sway bar and it fits perfect. I will post pic...I figured it wouldn't be too much trouble to weld on tabs but if that's stupid I'll go hunting in the junk yard next time I'm out

But Darts did not come with anti sway bars....Barracudas and some Valaints.....Except if special ordered on Dart.I figure all the early A bodies will be the same
Back when i picked up these LCAs from a 66 Formula S, I noticed multiple cars that had this location and style of mounting Tabs.I figure all the early A bodies will be the same
Fits perfect. And the tabs bolt to the shock bolt. As designed....And welded...Back when i picked up these LCAs from a 66 Formula S, I noticed multiple cars that had this location and style of mounting Tabs.

On one car in the set, i found the tabs welded closer to the pivot bolt.
@Mopar Tim I am curious what benefits you found welding the tabs higher on the LCA?

Factory designed puts the links upwards from control arm to the sway bar. Was just curious why you did the opposite direction.Fits perfect. And the tabs bolt to the shock bolt. As designed....And welded...
On some. Others the opposite... So the weld on links have a hole that the shock bolt goes thru. No way to mount any other way..... Makes zero difference which way a anti sway bar mounts, one side is always under compression, the other extension...Factory designed puts the links upwards from control arm to the sway bar. Was just curious why you did the opposite direction.
1.5 inches wider then the factory barI bought 2 helwig bars. Neither were correct. Did not fit. To wide
End links were at bad angles and tires rubbed. Factory no issues1.5 inches wider then the factory bar
Old chrystler yard near me normally has good prices thankfully so using the most factory parts is normally the cheapestif you currently have no sway bar and no tabs on the LCA's the easiest way is to buy a kit from an aftermarket supplier. these will have the swaybar pick up tabs that bolt to the shock mount of the LCA.
the POL/kanter/PST/addco bar is the same (751) and while it's less expensive the mounting is cumbersome and the hardware sucks. the hellwig 914 bar is loads better made and fits right, worth the price of admission. firmfeel sells a front bar with weld on tabs as well.
you can also scoop a used factory bar for about the same price as the 751 bar, but you'll need to weld on LCA tabs.
