Best ways to ship heavy or bulky stuff

I've got some leftovers I'm getting ready to sell, fenders, springs and so on, and when I check the usual suspects for shipping rates I'm aghast. Just to ship the fender via UPS or Fedex ground it'll be around $200 because of the dimensions. Anyone have any tips on shipping this kind of stuff without breaking the bank?
 
I have shipped Greyhound a few times with no problems. Did not know about Fastenal, thanks for that tip!
