Buyers beware of dealing with member rtse66...After several weeks (since 11/21/12) he has not yet mailed back a $15.00 check for parts I agreed to purchase for a friend but he was unsuccessful in removing them so he cancelled the deal, no big deal. But what is a big deal is I don't need some "unknown" person holding onto my personal check with my name, routing # & checking acct. # and try to fraudulently alter the check, then cash it for a different amount. Trust me, I know how easy this can be done. I prefer not call him at his phone number because I don't trust people in situations like this from my experience in law enforcement. They know they are 100% wrong and resort to false accusations, by saying they were threatened him during a phone call, in order to deflect from the real issue at hand and gain some type of leverage. Experience has taught me to keep all communications documented, such as through emails or PMs.
Last correspondence from him was two weeks ago when he stated" he was spaced out sending u the check back" yet he has posted replies to his "68 Barracuda Parts" in the Parts Car Section For Sale thread.
Maybe the mods can PM him to rectify this. I never send checks for deals but he didn't have a Paypal acct. I will never do another transaction unless its thru Paypal.

How many upper/lower molding clips do you have in all? There should be 8 pairs in all. Do you have any of the "Barracuda" emblems in nice shape without pitting, breaks or chips? Roberto
i have 3 extra trunklids with poor trim on them, i havent counted all the clips together but i'll count all the tabs and send that many clips.
no i need barracuda emblems for the fender myself and i have one good trunk emblem.

You may need to redo this because of all the phone # and email adresses.

Clean it up and keep it known before it get deleted .
 
Your welcome... If anything, I should of sent a money order then it would not of been a bigger issue to me but I saw others were making inquiries to his ad. I would just been beat for $15.00. But $15.00 can get me some good BBQ! Lesson learned.

5.00 or 500 bucks its all the same. all a man really has is his word around here. if thats no good , i want to know about it
 
I would put a trace on that check and see where it was cashed ..
Like you I would worry about a person having my info..
And good job getting the word out.

Understandable...some say there are two sides to every story, sometimes three! I'm sure a good excuse is coming...I rolled one with it when I got spaced out, the dog ate it, its lost in the mail not my fault or aliens came down slashed my tires and cut my power lines, etc...
Hopefully for his sake he hasn't fallen seriously ill where he can't access the internet, respond to my PMs or mail it out. He may also live in an area where the mail doesn't get delivered or where he can't ship from his house. However, its been since 11/21/12, I think I've been pretty patient.
I know how I am. If have other people's property that needs to be returned or shipped out I do it ASAP. If someone gives me their trust, I do whatever it takes to not let them down.

Yep, your right... besides this incident I got a call last week from my credit card co. for a security breach. Someone has my credit card number in Las Vegas, NV and called my credit card co. to find out if the credit limit was high enough to make a large purchase. Credit Card security phoned me immediately and cancelled my card immediately.
Fraud is ahuge problem in this country and costs people & companies millions & millions of $$$.

I guess I'm a bit pissed off at this point and whats mine needs to be returned, its not his to keep. I think anyone else would feel the same if they were jerked around for over three weeks and gotten taken. And with the recent attempt to fraudently use my credit card not feeling very warm and fuzzy inside.
 
Nope, not missing the big picture at all. If you were/are truly that worried about fraud then why send a check in the first place? Once he has the r&t, account number, branch id etc he can just have your checks printed damn near any where. If you were/are truly that worried about it you would HAVE sent a money order....Please, I know you are in law enforcement, you don't need to keep telling us.....
 
Such a shame. 99% of the guys here are good to deal with,but all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the barrel. Fabo is great about policing it's own though,so you have done the right thing alerting all to this.Good on ya!
