Lookin to make 600+ out of a small block. Some body tell me what stroker kit and heads to go with. 408/410?426?440? Need a engine guys advice. thanx!

i have a 416 dynoed at 624 with a solid cam and eddy heads 12.5 compresson

I have a 414 that's capable of 600, but I'm trying to keep it down to 500 because it has a cast crank. With a forged crank, I could push it to 600+ with a bigger cam and different intake and carb.

If ya can find some used W-2 heads... I'd go there and a nice solid cam.

As far as kit goes... no.
What I would look for in parts would be fordged crank, slugs and new rods of your choice, of course something beefy!

~ .040 over 360
~ Cast MP 4.00" crank
~ Eagle H-Beam 6.123" rods
~ Milodon 4-bolt steel main caps
~ Diamond Racing Pistons dished forged pistons
~ Total Seal's gapless top rings
~ Mopar Performance W-5 cylinder heads w/ 2.05-inch intake and 1.60-inch exhaust valves.
~ Mopar Performance's excellent W-5 tunnel ram manifold w/ twin 750 cfm Demon TR carbs
~ TTI's W5 1 7/8" headers
~ Crane 260/268 duration, and 0.420-inch lobe lift roller cam (this cam is very stable and easy on the valvetrain, and does not require
outrageous spring loads, and supplies the area under the curve)
~ Erson rocker kit (comes complete, assembled with rockers, shafts, spacers, and hold-downs)
~ oiling mods installing a bypass in the upper oil galleys, and rerouting oil to the #1 main
~ Speed-Pro's Competition Series bearings throughout

big ports kill velocity. Want horse power get big short runner heads and turn high rpms. Want torque and throttle response, small long runners.

yah everybody likes to see BIG cc#'s when it comes to port size. what they dont realize is that they need 7000++rpm
before those port sizes become an advantage. good read thanks. and excellent job too.

Best Machine can build you a "nice" small block [big inch] Call them for a price quote! or check w/them on line! Chuck or Pete!

yes big ports kill velocity, but that CID/stroke/rod ratio dependant... your port analogy is like comparing a
Top Fuel Dragster to a Tow Truck lol.

Need a lot more info. How much will you spend? What are you doing with it? Why 600hp?
