Please note the RPM and the parts used. Strader could have picked any parts he wanted but his choices say something.
Awesome performing engine.
10,500 RPM is so cool!
Who cares if it isn't a Mopar?
Great video, I like that he showed the lashing of the valves and checking the springs, that thing sure has a lot of lift.
Thanks for sharing this, I can't even imagine what it cost to build it!
What do you think of the Driven oil he used in it, Turk?
I know you are a Torco fan...
Wow! He says it is 424 cubic inches and it is going into a drag and drive car. That makes me wonder what class it will compete in and what style transmission it will run? I am looking forward seeing what this does on the tracks and the drives.
Me too. I can’t wait to see how well it holds up and how well it runs.
He’s running 435ish pounds on the seat and suspect he’s probably netting 1.000 lift so I’m assuming he’s 1200ish pounds over the nose.
If it makes a full drag and drive event without killing several sets of springs I’ll be impressed beyond impressed, whatever that means.
2.8 HP per inch. That’s what’s up…
That’s called a normal day in my brothers world… you know..That’s called kicking *** and leaving the dead bodies right there to rot!
Apparently wedge engines can efficiently work up around 9,500 rpm then you start to need to go canted valve to go higher rpms to finally hemi for max rpm.Well it might not technically be a Mopar, but without Mopar, it wouldn't be making those numbers. I always think it's funny that whenever people wanna make BIG power, a Hemi head is involved a lot of the time.

It's was Darin Morgan saying that so I imagine it's top end examples of each.It depends on the valve and port angle. I know actually making power at 8500 with a W2 or even the raised port W5 isn’t easy. Even on 340 inches. Guys claiming to run that rpm on OE heads with 400 inches either have no tach, a bad tach or they are bad liars.
