Joe Morgan, second base Big Red Machine passes at 77.
So much talent I had to despise him as a young Dodger fan.
I loved to watch him play though.

Rest in Peace Joe.

Dang. Seems all the greats are leavin us. I was never a huge Big Red fan, I did and still love Pete Rose. Think he was the greatest player of all time. I liked Johnny Bench too. I was mainly a Braves fan. Don't watch anymore since Daddy passed in 1998. It's just not the same without him.

This is a good time to point out that a Cincinnati dealership sold "Big Red machine" Dodge Chargers in the early/mid 70's.

Not well documented.

First ball game I ever went to 1976 Reds.

Rest In Peace Joe Morgan. I liked all the Reds players. The Big Red Machine was my team in the 70s. Johnny Bench was my favourite. I remember him saying that his dad told him the fastest/easiest way to the Major Leagues was as a catcher as they always needed catchers. Kim

From what I remember he was super consistent and always smiling. Great on the field and in the booth.
Watching playoffs now and I enjoy Smoltz in the booth.
RIP Joe
