Bone stock 318 2bbl 1/4 mile?

Bone stock in a '66 Satellite...high 15s. With dual exhausts through stock manifolds, a 4bbl AVS on a cast iron intake, and MP ignition, it went 15.30s.

I guess this would be close to where I'm at. I did high 15's and now have a 600 eddy. Gonna find out the first chance I get! I love all the B-body stock 318's in the 15's, and 4bbl ones low 15's. Does this mean a stock 318 with a 4bbl in a 3100 pound 70 duster is in the 14's.??

with low gears, sticky tires and cut a good light perhaps you could manage high 14's

What about a stock 73 dart sport 318 ,only ad ons xe268 cam kit, streetmaster intake,600 eddy headman full length headers 2 1/2 dual exhaust,2500 stall 373 lsd and 275/60/15.its what im putting on here in next few monthes

From the valley, cool. Gonna guess you're running Famoso. Test n'tune nights, earlier is better. 14.4-14-8's ,out of the box, being conservative. I don't know,if you have any drag racing experience. (My guess ,no). Learning, the first step. If on street radials, drive around the water box. Do a couple over short "dry hops" Street radials hate water & get gooey loose on big burnouts.Watch the "tree",leave on the first sight of the last yellow. This is a nice combination, could roll in, the 13's easily.

Id be happy with it,I do have racing experience .I grew up in chevy family.helped my dad build his nova .I was into racing vws on the street.worked at cb performance in machine shop.had a 12 second 1915 that I built and machined.after this I worked at dodge dealership till they went out of buisness.ive had about 20 mopars.

A 1915 air cooled, nothing to sneeze at.So damn hard on parts, when you push them.

About 10 trucks,8 darts ,66 newport,98 ram,my buddys have mopars with bug blocks a few are 440 509 cam all factort parts running ,mid 11s in b bodies.I chose smallblock to b differnt

Having a mopar is almost as cool as a fast bug.nobody expects to get beat lol.if I had money id buy one again.with the parts I had I could have been low 11s if Iwent with a 2276.cnc ported heads were affordable.

My 68 Coronet 2 door with bone stock 318 with 280,000 miles, dual exhaust, Holley 500 cfm 2bbl carb and a 2:76 rear peg leg pulled high 15's.

You got those numbers with a stone-stock 318 2bbl? Automatic or 4 speed? What were the gears?
i read a road test way back in the day
318-2 727 8 3/4 3.23
quickly had it down to 15.1@ 89 as i recall
my 1st car was dart 270 318 -2 aka flower pot carb 727 8 3/4 3.23 sg
had headers 2 1/4 exhaust g-60-14s
i had that 5400 in drive many times
ended with 2.02 j heads torker 600 holley nitrous 471 474 street hemi cam
surprised alot of cars early 80s
sounded sick with that cam no bottom end without the bottle

I would be shocked if a 318 2bbl was road tested and ran 15.1 @ 89 mph. That's about like a '73 340 Duster with 3.21's. But who knows, 318's can be surprising!

it ran 15.4 as i recall
they put tires 4 barrel and spring clamps
all the tricks increase front tire pressure pulled the power steering belt
15.1@89

For what it's worth, about 1976, a buddies 70' Duster 318, 3spd, 3.23 went 15 oh's @ 90 with headers, a LD and a 600 Holley. Had about 70k on it. I wasn't real impressed at the time, but probably was a decent runner.

Yes, that's a decent run. 4bbl, headers, 3.23's in a light '70, 15.0's is about on Q

Just ran the 1974 stock 318-2 barrel / 904 duster at Duct Tape Drags in Tucson: 17.6" at 80 mph. Not sure what rear end is in it, probably highway gears. No sure-grip. Will link the video later or you can check it out on instagram: @speedystax

Our 318 2bbl just ran 11.17 in the 1/8 in our '77 Van Tradesman 100. We did back face the intake valves, and removed some "nubs" in the castings
