I installed a borgeson box 14:1 on my 67 Belvedere I re-used my Saginaw pump. I took out the 2 shims as per a write up I read in the power steering pump. Upon start up I turn the wheel and it just goes crazy. Take the pump off add the 2 shims back in and same thing. I touch the wheel and it just goes wild.

Don’t feel bad. Simple mistake. You will love the box. My Barracuda does.
I’m running the factory pump and the pressure was spot on. Is it better for the pump your running removing the shims to lower the pressure or feel better all jacked up on Mountain Dew?

I even read the pressure hose closer to engine and my brain was duh lol. Yep remove the shims more pressure. Bergman suggests leaving one in there. I’ve got both shims now but not quite ready to test drive yet.
