I just installed Bouchillon's transmission kickdown kit and boy is it smooth. I finshed installing it last night and replacing the stock distributor with Summit's SUM-850081 with a added vacuum advance and what a difference.

I went for a little test drive after dark and couldn't believe how quick, hard and smooth it shifted and the old distributor must have been bad because
it idles way better and has more power. It is nice when you complete a project and it makes things perform better. Boy it's fun when your hard earned money is well spent!

what did you replace? old points job? maybe the curve in the new one is just better for your combo. that is a good looking dist.

It is a Series 32 Mallory knock-off with Summits labeling. I got it on sale
with a 20% off discount in March. Go to Mallory's web site for more info.

To change the total advance or springs you have to pull the reluctor with a battery post terminal puller to get at the distributor's guts.
