me and the boy visited a knife store today, specifically because he wanted to buy a butterfly knife
they didnt have one he really liked, so he ended up buying a switchblade instead, and i got this one for my oldest girl

and the girl actually likes to whittle
(shes even got one of those whittling pocket knives)
